WASHINGTON, DC - Next month, exciting local programming is coming to Washington's DCTV, the District’s public access station. DC 360, a brand new public affairs show produced by Multi-Media Training Institute, Inc (MMTI) at Studio W, will air in August on DC Public Access - Channel 95.
"We're taking a look at issues around Washington and covering the stories you won't see anywhere else." says co-host, Michael Ayala. Ayala, a former CBS correspondent, will be hosting alongside Tiffany Msonthi, former BET Nightly News reporter. The cast and crew is very much an eclectic mix of veteran professionals like Michael and Tiffany, youth from the MMTI’s video production summer program, community leaders, neighbors and recently graduated interns.
"This is a community effort. The community has to be involved for this to truly be fresh and relevant to D.C. We want to people who know D.C. best to be on our team. I think that's how we fill a niche that's unfilled." says, Maria Jones, Executive Producer and Program Coordinator of the MMTI’s summer program. Jones says the youth from the summer program will be taking the lead on production for the second episode. "They're ready and we're expecting something even better than the first show."
So what's new on the show? Tune in next month as DC 360 covers the Gardasil mandatory vaccination debate, DC's HIV Epidemic, and illness related to money stresses.
"I think everyone in DC can relate to one, if not all three, of these issues. The Gardasil issue especially; for anyone who has kids in school and who doesn't know about Gardasil...and we're providing resources too." says, Henry Joseph, Director. He is hoping that parents who watch the show find the information helpful and get involved.
